THE LINCOLN CAMERA CLUB PROGRAMME FOR MAY 2012

 


1 MAY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE CAMERA CLUB, followed by an informal discussion after the tea break on how you feel the club is running.
If you have any comments or suggestions for improvements they will be welcome. This is the best opportunity in the year to air them.


8 MAY VARIETY / PANEL PRINTS COMPETITION JUDGING.


15 MAY “onOne” SOFTWARE. A Lecture and demonstration of this interesting set of programs to enhance and give extra impact to your images by Bob Campbellm General Manager of onOne Software.


22 MAY PRACTICAL NIGHT – “JUDGING” by Len Dorricott . Len, who has many years of experience as a judge, will be looking at images from both a judge’s point of view as well as giving useful tips for us all on producing the sort of images that will appeal to competition judges.


29 MAY LECTURETTE COMPETITION If you feel the urge to lecture your fellow members on any subject – e.g. any aspect of Photography, Parachute jumping, Dancing, etc, or a cookery demonstration, model engineering or really whatever you like, now’s your chance !!! It’s an informal
evening, always entertaining, and you can vote for which you consider to be the best performance. The only strict rule is that lectures last for 15 minutes maximum.


6 JUNE COMMITTEE MEETING


THE 2013 CALENDARS are now in and cost just £3 each. If you haven’t ordered yours yet please do so ASAP to Phil Smith.


THE 2014 “CAMERA ART” CALENDAR This is one item to be discussed at the A.G.M. to give you more information on picture requirements, the ormat,

the calendar cover competition etc. plus of course to hear any suggestions you may have for this special calendar.


16 MAY THE 1ST BATTLE OF THE 2012 LPA INTER-CLUB PRINT COMPETITION takes place at Spalding at 7.30pm. The line-up being Spalding v. Cleethorpes & LINCOLN CC. Our club members are welcome to attend. Listen for an announcement by Jorj Malinowski.


LINCOLN CAMERA CLUB SUMMER EXHIBITION
takes place in the last week of June and first week in July in the Central Library, on Free School Lane. It is for prints only, and there is space for around 100 of your pictures. We like to include prints from as many members as possible, so please start preparing them in good time for middle of June. To maintain a high standard of presentation, your prints whatever their size should be on 20”x 16” mounts (of whatever colour you choose). This being the UK’s Olympic year there will be a section of the exhibition devoted to “Sport”. The set-up day is Monday 25 June in the room to the left in the entrance hall. Volunteers to assist in setting up will be welcome. If you have any questions
on what is required, have a word with Tim Scott or Mike Lincoln who organise the event.


THE LINCOLNSHIRE PHOTOGRAPHIC ASSOCIATION (LPA) HAS ITS BIENNIAL “OPEN” PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION THIS YEAR
where members of all affiliated Lincolnshire clubs are eligible to submit prints, which must be on 20” x 16” mounts to fit the frames used. You can enter a total of 6 prints, - 3 colour & 3 monochrome. There is a submission fee of £1 per person. Entries must be in to by Tuesday 3 July. Listen up for further nnouncements from Jorj Malinowski and see the notice board.
