
Information on Competitions and Competition Rules.
The club holds eight competitions during the year, most of which are judged by experienced members of the club. Two of these we regard as important print competitions, so arrange for judges from other clubs to assess our work. The approximate dates are shown below. Subjects for the 3 theme
competitions are varied each year.
FEBRUARY Theme No 1 - for PRINTS & DIGITAL IMAGES
MARCH “Salvers” - for “Applied” PRINTS only in 3 categories:-
1. Architecture
2. Natural History
3. Record Photography
MAY Theme No 2 - for PRINTS & DIGITAL IMAGES
JUNE “Variety Prints”, for sets of 3 prints showing a variety of subjects and/or techniques OR “Panel Prints” having 3 prints of the same theme.
JULY The Digital Competition for projected images in 2 categories:-
1. “Open” (any subject)
2. “Graphic Art” (where the images have been manipulated).
OCTOBER Theme No 3. - for PRINTS & DIGITAL IMAGES.
NOVEMBER “Open Digital Images” (any subject)
DECEMBER “Rose Bowl” and Open print competition.
The Tipler Trophy This is awarded to the photographer who has gained the most points from the club competitions throughout the year
In addition to these, the club as a whole and individual members also enter competitions organised by the Lincolnshire Photographic Association and the North & East Midlands Photographic Federation.
